Who I am

I am Laurence King, a web developer formerly based in Sheffield (UK), but currently residing in Christchurch (NZ), who specialises in the development of websites and user interfaces. I am passionate about creating interfaces that adhere to the latest web standards and ensure cross browser compatibility, search engine optimisation and high levels of accessibility.

My background

Having played around with computers since the Amstrad PCW back in 1988 I decided to maybe attempt a career in computers, so I went to Leeds University and got a 2:1 in Computer Science. What followed was a rollercoaster ride of employment, learning, and just generally getting to grip with real life. One of the main highlights of this was my senior developer role at the amazing digital media agency that is twentysix. The experience of working with twentysix has helped me forge my own path by becoming a more confident and complete developer.

Over the years I have worked on lots of very different projects from massive corporate intranets to e-commerce websites to global hosting platforms. To top it off a lot of these projects have been for some very significant companies and brands. Some of the brands that I have been fortunate enough to work with include JP Morgan, Gatwick Airport, Proctor & Gamble, Bloomsbury, Asda, Sony, Interflora, Legal and General, MORE TH>N, T-Mobile and BG group.
